THEATRICAL SONG INTERPRETATION

3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at The 5th Avenue Theatre


Singing Actor Billie Wildrick, a favorite performer the 5th Avenue Theatre, will present a two-part vocal workshop for musical theater singers ages 13 and up. Bring the sheet music for a song you love and develop techniques to convey your musical, dramatic and emotional intentions to your audience. Space is limited and registration must be received by January 29, 2010.

A MESSAGE FROM BILLIE: "I believe that songs are like empty lanterns. Each with their own particular form and beauty and transparency. In this workshop, students will discover ways to crawl inside a song and illuminate it with their own unique light of experience, vocal color, personality and understanding."

ABOUT BILLIE WILDRICK: Billie is a working singer/actor who considers herself very lucky to play for the performing arts home team in her beloved Seattle and very very lucky to find herself so often on the boards at The 5th Avenue - Sunday in the Park... (Dot), Into the Woods (Cinderella), Company (April), Wonderful Town (Eileen)/Footlight Award, Smokey Joe's, White Christmas (Rita), A Funny Thing Happened...(Philia), Rocky Horror, Buddy, My Fair Lady and Hair. You may also have seen Billie at the Seattle Children's Theatre - Seussical! (Mayzie)/Footlight Award, Village Theatre - Saint Heaven (Maggie), Hello, Dolly! (Irene Molloy), Man of LaMancha (Antonia), TAG, Harlequin or on various cabaret stages. This year saw Billie nominated for Outstanding Actress at the first annual Gregory Awards for her performances as Dot in Sunday in the Park... here at The 5th and Brunhilde in Das Barbecu at ACT. Billie has a passion for the theatrical application of song and hopes to always be a part of its evolution.
