Michael Gruber
Audition Preparation/Song Interpretation
Mr. Gruber was last seen at The 5th Avenue as Don Lockwood in Singin' in the Rain and Billy in Anything Goes. Broadway credits include: Mike in A Chorus Line, Munkustrap in CATS, Tinman in The Wizard of Oz, Hortensio in Kiss Me Kate and Original Companies of Miss Saigon, Swing!, Laughing Room Only and My Favorite Year. Regional credits include: Jud in Oklahoma, (Arizona Theatre Co.), Wizzer in Falsettos (Alliance-Atlanta), Saul in Rags (Walnut Street), Young Ben in Follies and Fingers in Red, Hot and Blue (Paper Mill Playhouse), Lucky in Dames at Sea (Goodspeed) and Cousin Kevin in the '99 concert tour of Tommy. Jane Lanier
Fosse Instructor
Ms. Lanier, a celebrated performer and choreographer, has appeared in six Broadway shows, including Jerome Robbin’s Broadway (Tony Award Nomination) and Fosse (Drama Desk Nomination). She has choreographed over 15 musical productions and countless TV commercials. For The 5th Avenue Theatre, she choreographed Smokey Joe’s Café, appeared in the concert of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and played Fastrada in the recent production of Pippin.
Kim Huber
Song Interpretation/Performance
Ms. Huber is a gifted performer and singer. On Broadway, she played Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and starred as Marie Christine in Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close. She was nominated for the Barrymore and Jeff awards for her portrayal of Nellie Collins in the national tour of Floyd Collins. Her 5th Avenue Theatre appearances include Catherine in Pippin, Maria in The Sound of Music, Martha in 1776, and Belle in the national tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Ms. Huber’s Los Angeles premieres include The Last Five Years (Cathy), The Spitfire Grill (Shelby) and Stephen Sondheim's Saturday Night (Helen). She can also be heard as the voice of Sleeping Beauty on Disney Records. Summer 2006 marks her debut as a soloist with the California Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Carol Swarbrick
Audition Technique
An accomplished actor and singer, Ms. Swarbrick starred on Broadway in Side By Side By Sondheim, 42nd Street, Whoopee!and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. 5th Avenue Theatre audiences remember her as Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd. Regionally, Ms. Swarbrick performed in The Wizard of Oz (Ovation Award nomination), Hello Dolly!, Look Homeward Angel, Mame, Gypsy, Follies, A Funny Thing...Forum, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George. Stephen Reed
Dance
Stephen has appeared on Broadway in Once Upon A Mattress with Sarah Jessica Parker, How to Succeed in Business... with Matthew Broderick, Crazy For You, Jerome Robbins Broadway, 110 in the Shade, and CATS as the rock-n-roll Rum-Tug-Tugger. He's toured through America, Europe, and Japan in Broadway productions of Ragtime, Crazy For You, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Evita, Annie Get Your Gun, and the recent Tony award-winning revival of Kiss Me Kate. He has performed in rock videos for Prince, Gloria Estefan, Peter Frampton, and Steve Winwood, was dance supervisor for the legendary Liza Minnelli on her Broadway Tour of Minnelli On Minnelli, and can be seen tap dancing on a tin roof in PBS Great Performances Presents: Crazy For You! In addition to performing, Stephen is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographer and recently was Assistant Choreographer for the New York Philharmonic & PBS Presents Candide! starring Patty Lupone and Kristin Chenoweth. Here at The 5th Avenue, Stephen has appeared onstage in A Chorus Line, Kiss Me Kate, Singin' in the Rain, and choreographed A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
Judith Blazer
Acting
At The 5th Avenue, Ms. Blazer was most recently seen as Ethel/Georgette in Yankee Doodle Dandy and as Eliza in My Fair Lady. Broadway: Neil Simon's 45 Seconds From Broadway, Titanic, Me and My Girl, A Change in the Heir. Off-Broadway: Sweeney Todd at NYC Opera, The Torch Bearers with The Drama Dept., Hurrah at Last at the Roundabout, Hello Again at Lincoln Center Theatre, Connecticut Yankee with New York City Encores!. Regional: Funny Girl, The Night Governess, The Miracle Worker, Peter Pan, My Fair Lady, On the 20th Century, Twelfth Night. TV: Law & Order, As The World Turns, Guiding Light, Bernstein's New York.
Dannul Dailey
Dance
Mr. Dailey was a principal soloist with Lee Theadore’s American Dancemachine, a Broadway Repertory Company that has recreated some of Broadway’s classic dances. He’s also worked with such notable choreographers and performers as Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, Danny Daniels and Agnes DeMille. Mr. Dailey is currently a faculty member of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.
Albert Evans
Voice
Mr. Evans composed the music for the Off-Broadway hit Pageant, chosen by Time Magazine as one the year’s 10 Best. He’s the composer-in-residence at the Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey, where he penned the lyrics for Great Expectations, Jane Eyre and A Tale of Two Cities. Mr. Evans also wrote the lyrics for New York City Opera’s The Merry Widow, broadcast on Live from Lincoln Center.
Tinka Gutrick-Daile
Dance
Ms. Gutrick-Dailey trained with the prestigious Harkness Ballet in New York City, then toured the world extensively in a number of Broadway shows. She was also a principal soloist with the American Dancemachine for ten years. Ms. Gutrick-Dailey has served as assistant to Agnes DeMille, Buzz Miller, and other notable dancers and choreographers. Currently, she’ a faculty member at Cornish College of the Arts, and continues to teach master classes with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Spectrum Dance and the Seattle Opera.
