Auditions for MAME

Casting for Auntie Mame's 'Young Patrick' To be Held November 17


SEATTLE - The 5th Avenue Theatre will hold auditions for the role of Young Patrick in this season's upcoming production of MAME, playing February 9 - March 2, 2008. Rehearsals begin January 12. Auditions will be held Saturday, November 17 from 10 am - 2 pm at Theatre Puget Sound, 4th floor of Seattle Center House, 305 Harrison St. Seattle, WA 98109.

Boys between the ages of 8 and 15 are encouraged to audition. All must have a strong soprano singing voice, acting ability and move well. Most rehearsals will take place during afternoons, evenings and weekends, but children should be prepared to miss some school during the rehearsals and performances. Young actors should prepare one song (one verse and one chorus only) in addition the music and dialogue scene they will receive after making an appointment.

Character Description: Young Patrick is a clean-cut and thoughtful 10-year-old boy from the 1920s who comes to live with his eccentric Auntie Mame. Carries much of the acting throughout Act One and beginning of Act Two. Must have strong acting ability, move well, and a very strong soprano singing voice.

All auditioners must bring a photo and resume (if available) as well as current contact information. Professional headshots are not required. A school photo is acceptable. Photos and resumes will not be returned.

Auditions are by appointment only. Parents and guardians who wish their child to audition must call The 5th Avenue Theatre at (206) 625-1418, Monday through Friday 10 am - 4pm. They will receive information on music and sides needed for the audition when the appointment is scheduled.
